The are six sections to our compound.
The Hotel California is a
Caribbean house built in
the late 1980s of Brazilian hardwoods such as
greenheart (Chlorocardium
rodiei) and purpleheart
(Peltogyne paniculata). It is one of five such houses in the
Luck Hill area.
At a later date the
Casablanca rental Villa
was built below the Hotel
California (see Casablanca rental Villa page).
In addition we have a 30 feet (10 metre)
swimming pool with an
infinity edge. The pool is a
consistent five feet in depth, and has a large sweep of
steps at one end. When you
gaze over the infinity edge
you have a perfect view of
Jost van Dyke (see The Islands of the BVI page).
The pool is flanked on two
sides by concrete decking.
The other side overlooks
our garden, with its variety
of fruit trees. We can pick
lemons for our drinks from
the closest trees while we are in the pool!
We also have a terraced garden
with two sets of
steps down the slope to enable you to wander
among the trees and
practice your plant identification skills.
At the east end of the
compound we have a long-term rental
property called Cane Cottage.
Finally we have ample parking for our guests.
